Alliander (project coordinator)
The network company Alliander, is responsible for a large share of the energy pipeline grid in the Netherlands. Our core business involves connecting customers to our energy grids and distributing gas and electricity. These operations are legally mandated because our society is highly dependent on a reliable energy supply. We believe it’s important to take the lead in distributing renewable energy. That is why we’re constantly working on innovations and creating high-quality technological solutions. This allows us to contribute to a better society.
Enel Ingegneria e Innovazione
Enel is a multinational group based in Italy, a leading integrated player in the power and gas markets of Europe and Latin America, operating in 40 countries across 4 continents overseeing power generation from 98 GW of net installed capacity and distributing electricity and gas through a network spanning around 1.9 million km to serve 61 million customers.
The company’s Research Area employs 200 highly-skilled researchers, and has laboratories and test areas throughout the country. Research and innovation activities form part of the Plan for Technological Innovation which provides an overall framework of the research and innovation strategy and projects developed within the Group. The Plan has been developed in an integrated form with Endesa and in coordination with all the Group companies and aims to increase the Group’s competitiveness and enhance its technological and environmental leadership.
Global Cyber Security Center (GCSEC)
The Global Cyber Security Center (GCSEC) is not-for-profit organization created to advance cyber security in Italy, the region, and around the world. The Center, funded by Poste Italiane SpA and other member companies, is based in Rome with a strong collaboration with Italian and International government institutions, private bodies, research institutions and international bodies. The mission of the center is to develop and disseminate knowledge and awareness on Cyber Security, creating the conditions for improving capabilities, skills, cooperation and communication between the different stakeholders involved in the use and protection of the Internet. Among other activities, GCSEC has conducted research on cyber security in the energy sector in collaboration with Enel SpA and within EU FP7 projects.
Gdańsk University of Technology
Gdansk University of Technology (GUT) is the largest technical university in the Pomeranian Region and one of the oldest technical universities in Poland. Its mission is to provide high quality education to meet the needs of the dynamically growing economy and the knowledge-based society. It is committed to carry out scientific research at the highest, international level of excellence in the conditions of the globalising world as well as realising innovative undertakings to contribute to society through active participation in civilisation transformation, in particular that of science and technology innovation education research.
SecurityMatters was founded in 2009 as a spin-off from the University of Twente. Based on over 10 years of academic research, the company develops and sells IT security solutions. The solutions are state-of-the-art network monitoring and intrusion detection systems to detect the newest and most sophisticated cyber attacks. SecurityMatters thereby focuses on so-called next-generation technologies that can be developed in close cooperation with academic research.

The mission of ENCS is to improve the resilience of European critical infrastructures. We do so by bringing together the best R&D resources in Europe to address the needs of your business. Our initial objective is to raise the cyber security bar for the electricity supply. ENCS works with dedicated resources on research & development, testing, monitoring, education & training and information & knowledge sharing. We are a not-for-profit network organization.
